Frequently Asked Questions about Thai Massage

Q: How do I book a Thai Massage?

Please call between 9am and 9pm to make your appointment. A Thai Massage Therapist will be available to advise on the most suitable Thai Massage therapy for your body condition or emotional state. They will also discuss any specific aches, pains or past injuries that you may have.

Q: Appointments and cancellations

Please kindly allow at least 24 hours notice. When we are not busy, it may be possible to make an appointment on the same day. We have a Call Back service, so please leave a message and your preferred time and we will respond within 2 hours.

Q: How long should my appointment be?

This depends on the type of Thai Massage treatment you require. A combination of Thai Massages is highly beneficial – for this, we suggest you allow 90-120 minutes. Please see our individual Thai Massage pages for more details about the recommended duration of each massage and contact us if you have any queries.

Q: Are you easy to find?

Yes – we are very conveniently located at Great Russell Street, just a short walk. Please see the Contact Us page for more details on how to find Real Thai Massage London.

Q: When should I arrive and what should I wear?

Please arrive 5 minutes early. You may leave your underwear on. Your therapist will provide towels.

Q: What if I am late for my appointment?

We will still give you the complete treatment, except if we have a client booked for the following session, in which case we will have to finish on the appointed time.

Q: Are out of hours appointments available?

Yes, this is of course possible if you are too busy during our opening hours. Please note that our Thai Massage Therapists are strictly professional.

Q: Which Massage Oils do you use?

We regularly use Thai Sweet Almond Oil – a deeply nourishing and hydrating botanical oil that is rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E. We also use Lavender Oil, Grapeseed Oil and a combination of pure Essential Oils. Please let us know if you have a particular preference of oils for your Thai Massage treatment.

Q: Is Thai Massage painful?

Thai Massage is a wonderfully relaxing and fulfilling experience – many clients even fall asleep during their treatment! However, some pain is to be expected during a Thai Therapeutic Massage since it is a deep tissue treatment. In order to cure the root cause of physical or emotional imbalance and permanently alleviate symptoms, the Thai Deep Tissue Massage process can be a mixture of discomfort and deep relaxation. It is likely that each subsequent session will become more relaxing and toning as your therapist works to unblock your energy lines. Kate is qualified and experienced in Thai Deep Tissue Massage and the long term benefits of this therapeutic treatment outweigh any necessary discomfort that may be experienced during the process.

Q: How many treatments do I need?

This depends on your goal. Many clients enjoy regular Thai Massages as part of their weekly routine – simply to help them relax and unwind. Others may require Thai Deep Tissue Massage to relieve pain and we may be able to unblock energy lines in the first session, or during a course of – for example – 4 sessions. Some clients may want to correct their posture, which is an ongoing course of therapy. Working together, we can determine the depth of treatment required and how long you might need.

Q: Is Thai Massage beneficial, even if I don’t have aching or pain?

Thai Massage is one of the best massages available to alleviate emotional tension, work pressure and tiredness – it is an ideal massage therapy for the busy, modern-day world. A number of fit and healthy clients have a weekly Thai Massage simply because it relaxes, tones and balances their body and mind, helping them to function at an optimum level in their daily lives. In doing so, their energy lines remain unblocked, their bodies are supple and they are less likely to develop illnesses or tension.

Q: I work long hours and have a lot of stress in my life – how often should I have a London Thai Massage?

At least every 3 weeks. Regular Thai Massage will relieve your tiredness and stress and re-energise you from within – it even has an anti-ageing effect.

Q: I have chronic back and neck pain – will Thai Massage help?

Yes, it could help very much. It is likely that a course of Thai Therapeutic Massage will be necessary, but you should feel a difference after just one session.
